Volunteer at Lesnes Abbey Woods Forest Club

£0.00

Come and join us and get involved with Lesnes Abbey Forest Club volunteers. The Forest Club is a way to be in the woodland throughout the year and learn skills that support woodland management and biodiversity.

Learn rural crafts, work together for the benefit of nature and enjoy the simple pleasure of working outside together. Feel the joy of sharing a hot drink from the kettle on an open fire - simple pleasures.

We are looking to create a core group of volunteers to learn the foundation skills of green wood working and develop a range of ancient rural craft skills that compliment and support a healthy woodland environment.

If you take part, you will become familiar with sawing, cutting and splitting wood, using knives and axes and mastering the use of shave horses, spoon mules and pole lathes. Support the natural dye garden, learn to weave, cast metal, make furniture, the possibilities are endless, but we need the gift of your time.

This will all take place at our newly developing site called “The Clearing”, the space that currently has building work going on and fences around it.

Become a volunteer and advocate for the Forest Club and work with Creative Nature HQ, a not for profit organisation that supports this project, at a time when we are about to enter a new and exciting chapter for this group.

This is a time of change and we are establishing new regular dates that will be coming soon, but until then, check our Instagram for group activities and opportunities to get involved in the development of our new site!

You can also join our Whatsapp group by signing in at the reserve your volunteer space or just message us through Instagram. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
