Green Wood Working - 1 day introduction

£80.00

This introductory day brings you into the ancient world of green wood working. This term refers to working with wood that is fresh or wood with a high moisture content.

Explore the techniques of sawing, splitting and carving, along with bushcraft skills that help us stay outside all day.

We will use green wood, freshly cut with a high moisture content. This is a beautiful and easy way to carve wood.

You are supported through the whole process and encouraged to explore carving in your own way and at your own pace. This is an exercise in slowing down and settling your attention.

All tools and materials are supplied and at the end of the session you will have your first carving started.

A large canopy and central fire keeps us warm and dry.

This is a full day workshop, 10am - 4pm.

Location

This workshop is carried out at “The Clearing”, an outdoor purpose-built creative space in Lesnes Abbey Woods.

Find us on Google Maps: The Clearing, Lesnes Abbey Woods, Belvedere, SE2 0AX

Toilets are a 5 minute walk away at Lesnes Abbey Lodge.

What to bring

  • Boots or sturdy footwear to be worn - no open toed shoes - and weather appropriate clothing

  • Gloves if you have some
