Woodland Festival Summer Programme
This summer join us for our inspiration workshops in the run up to the Woodland Festival - a 16th century medieval themed parade, hosted by Friends of Lesnes Abbey and Woods, on Sunday 14th September.
7 days of family friendly activities at The Clearing, our woodland workshop, from 10am - 3pm, to get inspired and ready for the parade. Using natural materials, we will be focusing on decorating the costumes - monks habits - for the volunteers to wear on the day.
Get involved in plaiting, weaving, embellishing and jewellery making, as well as our general woodland activities such as fire making and wood splitting.
Experience the joy of spending time outdoors, crafting, creating and learning new skills, surrounded by the serenity of ancient woodland.
Workshop dates:
- Friday 8th August
- Saturday 9th August
- Thursday 14th August
- Friday 15th August
- Thursday 21st August
- Friday 22nd August
- Saturday 29th August
Don’t let the weather stop you coming out! Rain or shine we will be there. The canopy, fire and tea will keep us comfortable.
Tickets are on a sliding scale from £5 - £15, for low wage, standard, and generous supporter fee. If you would like to sign up to volunteer for the parade on 14th September, the ticket is free. Please email us if you would like to volunteer and we will sign you up.
All are welcome! Let us know if you have any questions about getting involved or accessibility needs that we can try our best to accommodate.
